Moemon Star Emerald is a GBA ROM hack by Axcellerator, based on Pokemon Emerald. The latest update was released on September 2, 2024, and it’s now available for download.

Description

Moemon Star Emerald brings fresh life to the classic Pokémon Emerald by updating the graphics and battle backgrounds with inspiration from FireRed and LeafGreen. The game adds more trainer battles, adjustable difficulty settings such as level caps, custom maps, and many new features. Quality of Life improvements like the removal of HMs and new ways to catch Moemon enhance the overall adventure.

How to Use Mega Evolution in Moemon Star Emerald

1. Ensure you have a Mega Bracelet in your inventory.
2. Equip your Moémon with the correct Mega Stone.
3. During battle, select Attack, then press Start (or your assigned key).
4. Use a move, and your Moémon will Mega Evolve.

You can find Mega Stones scattered throughout the region as sparkling spots or receive them as gifts. Mega Evolution becomes available after obtaining the Mega Bracelet from Steven on Route 118.

Recommended Emulators

The game has been tested on VBA-M, mGBA, and MyBoy. We recommend using the latest versions to prevent issues.

Before Playing: Make sure to set your emulator’s Save Type to “Automatic” and “Flash 128k” to ensure the game starts properly.

Known Bugs

• Time-based events follow your device’s clock instead of the in-game room clock.
• Important: Backup your save before using the Battle Frontier facilities or Battle Tents, as they can sometimes erase your PokéDex data.
• Moémon that reach level 100 can no longer gain EVs through training due to Gen 3 mechanics, but Vitamins will still work without limits.
• The “Search by Name” function in the PokéDex is currently broken.
• The PokéDex “Order” function sorts listings incorrectly.
• Rare Candies may display a “+0” stat gain, but this is just a visual bug.
